Businesses have had to shut early and dozens of homes have been left without water owing to a burst water main in Ryde High Street.
It was earlier this afternoon (Monday) that water started gushing down the hill, pouring out of nearby telecommunication chambers and flooding the road.
Southern Water contractors are in attendance on the High Street outside British Heart Foundation, and slightly further up the road near The Works.
It’s hoped that supplies will be restored shortly – but that will come too late for Wetherspoons which have decided to close early due to a lack of running water.

Southern Water put their prices up by around 40/50% and that’s where it goes. Hahaha, what a disgraceful way for a company to operate, but the tory government backs them.
