UPDATED: A vehicle has crashed through a garden wall and come to rest in the front garden of a property in Newport this evening (Friday).
Witnesses have reported that the driver locked the car before leaving the scene at Halberry Lane at shortly before 18:00.
Police are now on scene and are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
The road remains open.
UPDATE – Island Echo understands the vehicle rolled down the hill and into the garden wall and was unoccupied at the time.
Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that no offences have been identified and the situation has been left for the 2 independent parties to resolve through insurance companies.
