Vecta House Care Home proudly hosted its annual Culture and Diversity Celebration over the weekend (Sunday), with a special focus on the rich traditions of Indonesia.
For the second consecutive year, members of the local Indonesian community joined residents and staff for a day of vibrant cultural exchange, delicious food, and joyful festivities.
The event, a highlight of the Vecta House calendar, aims to foster a deeper appreciation for the diverse backgrounds within the home and the wider community. This year’s celebration kicked off with a captivating performance of traditional Indonesian dancing, with dancers adorned in beautiful, authentic costumes. The air was filled with the sounds of traditional Indonesian music, setting a festive and welcoming tone for all in attendance.
Following the performance, residents, staff, and guests gathered to enjoy a spectacular feast prepared collaboratively by the Indonesian community members and Vecta House staff. The tables were filled with an impressive array of traditional dishes, including sweet Nastar and fragrant Pandan cake, savory rice cakes, risoles, noodles, and spring rolls.
