3 people arrested in connection with a serious incident in Upper Ventnor on Saturday, which saw Armed Police deployed, have been bailed.
As previously reported by Island Echo, emergency services responded to Lowtherville Road in Ventnor on Saturday evening following reports of a burglary in progress at Rayners – a block of flats near the Free School.
It was reported that a group of people had forced entry to the address and were in possession of weapons, although Police will not disclose what those weapons were.
A 36-year-old man and a 33-year-old man both sustained minor injuries in the incident.
Armed Police from both sides of the Solent were quickly deployed and soon launched a hunt for a black BMW 1-series. The vehicle was later stopped at Blackwater Junction near Newport with 2 women arrested at gunpoint, as exclusively revealed.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed on Sunday afternoon that the 2 women, both aged 22 and from Newport, were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary with intent.
A 25-year-old man from Ventnor was also arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Police have confirmed this morning (Monday) that the 3 detained suspects have all been bailed whilst enquiries continue.
