Island Line have announced they will be suspending their Shanklin to Ryde Pier Head service this evening (Thursday) following a staff shortage.
A reduced service is currently running using fewer trains, with services being suspended from 19:00.
The last service to Shanklin will be the 18:14 from Esplanade and to Esplanade will be 18:48 from Shanklin.
During this time a replacement bus service will be in operation.
A spokesperson for South Western Railways has said:
“Due to a member of traincrew being unavailable between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin fewer trains are able to run on all lines.
“Train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled or revised. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
“We have been informed that a member of traincrew is unavailable on the Island Line.
“This means that the train service will be reduced between 16:00 and 19:00, after which the service will be suspended.
“Replacement buses will run between Shanklin and Ryde only.”
