UPDATED: Emergency services have been called to a road traffic incident involving a motorcyclist at the junction of Hunnyhill and Hunnycross Way in Newport this afternoon (Sunday).
Traffic is building in the area, near to Sainsbury’s supermarket, as members of the public attend to the injured rider in the middle of the road.
Police and a rapid response paramedic are making their way to the scene.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area. Delays to Southern Vectis Route 1 buses are anticipated.
UPDATE @ 14:47 – The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and Police are now on scene and have transferred the 18-year-old male casualty into an awaiting ambulance. He is not thought to have sustained any serious injuries.
The scene has now cleared and traffic is moving in the area, albeit slowly.
