Residents from a Totland care home have enjoyed a day out at Osborne House, spending time looking around the former Royal residence and its picturesque grounds.
Residents from Inglefield Nursing & Residential Home travelled to the historic estate in East Cowes, where they toured the former seaside home of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
During the visit, they explored the State Rooms and learned more about Queen Victoria’s connection to the Isle of Wight before enjoying lunch together.
The group later went for a look around Osborne House’s gardens, making the most of the fresh air and summer surroundings.
The outing gave residents the opportunity to share memories, learn more about the Island’s royal history and spend quality time together away from the care home.
Charlotte, Home Manager at Inglefield Nursing & Residential Home, has said:
“It was such a lovely day from beginning to end. Osborne House is a very special place, and our residents thoroughly enjoyed exploring the rooms, hearing about its history and walking through the beautiful gardens.
“Days out like this are about so much more than visiting somewhere new. They give our residents an opportunity to spend time together, enjoy the fresh air and create happy memories.

The visit formed part of Inglefield Nursing & Residential Home’s ongoing activities programme, which is designed around residents’ interests and includes regular outings, entertainment and activities both within the home and across the Isle of Wight.
