Students from Theatretrain Isle of Wight recently took to the stage at the world-famous Royal Albert Hall, performing in a national production titled ‘We’re Gonna Change the World’ – a powerful show exploring the changes young people want to see in today’s society.
On stage for almost the entire performance, the Isle of Wight students demonstrated impressive stamina and confidence through acting, energetic dance routines, and choral performances. Their presence was described as passionate, powerful, and full of strength, impressing a sell-out audience that gave a prolonged standing ovation at the close of the show.
Theatretrain Artistic Director, Kevin Dowsett, has said:
“We’re Gonna Change the World was a triumph! Performed to a sell-out audience, the show ended in a prolonged standing ovation – a real testament to the energy, teamwork, and talent of everyone involved.
“This show wasn’t just entertainment – it was a celebration of growth, imagination, and the Theatretrain spirit.”
Kevin highlighted several standout moments from the evening, including Surface Pressure, Born This Way, Fragile, Trouble in the Water, and the final number, The Climb, which delivered a powerful message of unity, hope, and the potential for young people to bring about change.
Company Director, Julie Caudle, added:
“I am so proud of our students. To see them perform at such an iconic venue, with such professionalism and confidence, was inspiring. They rose to the challenge brilliantly and gave a performance they’ll never forget.”

The performance comes as the group also prepares for their upcoming production of Kinky Boots, which will be staged at Shanklin Theatre on 29th and 30th November 2025.
Following the success of previous productions including Footloose, Elf, and We Will Rock You, this year’s show is already being described as one of their strongest yet.
