The Bay CE Secondary School in Sandown and Barton Primary School in Newport have both confirmed they have a positive case of COVID-19 within each school community.
Children who have been in contact with the infected individuals have been told to self-isolate for a period of 10 days, potentially ruining Christmas for families across the Island.
Letters have been sent out to parents at both schools, with separate letters issued to those who must now self-isolate.
It’s understood 57 Year 9 students at The Bay School have been affected, whilst 27 Year 3 pupils and 3 staff members at Barton are impacted.
Last night Island Echo reported that Year 2 pupils at Haylands Primary School in Ryde at now self-isolating following a confirmed case of coronavirus.
