A 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man have been questioned by Police after being arrested in connection with suspected drug dealing in Sandown.
Officers were conducting proactive patrols in The Bay yesterday afternoon (Monday) when they came across a vehicle parked at the rear of Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club – the location of recent anti-social behaviour and criminal damage.
A strong smell of cannabis coming from the vehicle led to a search of the car and its occupants, with a large quantity of cannabis found and seized.
It has been confirmed by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary that a 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply.
A 19-year-old male was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cannabis, as well as being in charge of a motor vehicle whilst over the specified drug drive limit.
Both males have been questioned and released from Police custody under investigation, pending further enquiries.

The next generation of filth, however, WHY release them???….keep them locked up until the courts decide what to do with them….If this was Tolland they would be on death row…
Maybe let’s not call for the death penalty?
Where T-F is Tolland!??
It’s next to Frutwater
One can only assume you mean Thailand if so what other laws would you like to introduce to Britain that are enforced in that country .
Being arrested for not wearing underwear , steeping on Currency . driving a car without a shirt ?Or how about owning more then 120 playing cards which could land you in jail for up to 10 years?
Cannabis is completely legal in Thailand
you mug .
Just shows that actually getting police on the streets is the best way to fight crime.
Why don’t they say the amount????
Large could mean anything
‘pending further enquiries’ usually means ‘until we can all forget what happened and move on’. Had the Police got the evidence they would have charged them both but as usual they need ‘more evidence and further enquiries’! Why do they even bother to crow about catching these dealers when they haven’t actually been charged with any offence? Perhaps even the Police now treat us like idiots just like the Council, Government etc.
I’d be more concerned about the type of people this golf club is allowing in as members.
Well done , cannabis is the 1st step up to class A drug use , and before anyone says it is harmless ! It can be the gateway to more serious addiction…..
Imo drug use …. unless prescribed by a doctor is costly to the health of the user and retrospective to the family and friends ….
Don’t start !
Are you kidding? that is like saying those who enjoy a couple of glasses Pinot Grigio will be knocking back a couple of liters of Vodka withing time .
So if you smoke cigarettes, you end up smoking cigars? And if you have too many grapes, youll end up on the wine? Before people even talk about cannabis, they should actually look at other countries that have legalised it,
There only get a silly fine take there car away that would be a good start
