Coastguard Rescue Officers have assisted an individual with a suspected broken ankle on a remote beach in the West Wight this evening (Friday).
Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team and The Needles Coastguard Rescue Team were mobilised at 18:28 to reports of a woman in difficulty at Shepard’s Chine, off Military Road.
The casualty was placed on a stretcher and carried to the main road for onward conveyance to St Mary’s Hospital.
It’s been a busy day for both Coastguard teams with a body recovery at Whale Chine this morning, a fallen woman at The Needles Battery straight after and a suspected heart attack at Whitecliff Bay, Bembridge.
