Emergency services have been called to the West Wight this afternoon (Friday) where an individual requires medical assistance.
Solent Coastguard tasked Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team and the Needles Coastguard Rescue Team to a casualty on Tennyson Down, near to the Needles Battery, at around 13:10.
An eye-witness has told Island Echo that Coastguard Rescue Officers are with the casualty.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service has been requested to attend the incident.
UPDATE – It has been confirmed that a woman fell at The Needles Battery, suffering injuries.
She was stabilised by Coastguard Rescue Officers and transferred into the care of the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
2 teams were re-deployed to a suspected heart attack on the beach at Whitecliff Bay, Bembridge but the casualty was in the care of paramedics by the time they arrived on scene.
