A £300,000 Lamborghini supercar has been seized by Police after being pulled over in Newport this evening (Saturday).
Officers in an unmarked X5 stopped the 218mph car on St George’s Way when the vehicle was flagged as having no tax.
Thankfully, the driver swiftly pulled over to the side of the road near ASDA and didn’t lead Police on a pursuit. The stop occurred shortly before 21:00.
Roadside checks confirmed that the car hadn’t been taxed since August 2020.
Recovery agents were soon called in and the Lamborghini Aventador was loaded onto the back of a lorry.
The local driver will be able to claim his vehicle back after paying the road tax due and the recovery costs.

Holy cow, they pulled over Batman.
Batman v Taxman
And Taxman won.
He should also be done for speeding he was trying to race me in my Reliant Robin on the dual
carriageway.!
I trust you flicked the jet engine switch and left it standing?
Couple of hundred quid fine, and 3 points (possibly 6). A real deterrent for someone who can afford to pay £300,000 on a car!
You dont get points for no tax just reported to DVLA.
No excuse for not having tax as he would have got a reminder.
Could have been at his old address lets face it how many of these are on the Island? People with these cars dont live on the Island they visit or move with them! so hence tax is an easy oversight!
Gadzooks !!
He must have been isolating in the bat cave and Robin forgot to get the car tax.
What a plonker. One for not having road tax, two for having a car like that on the Island. What use is it, other than showing off? Can’t see it being any good for a tip run.
What a boring life you must have
Yes for being a no road tax plonker but as long as you stay within the law what’s wrong with showing off? Can always take it to a track day and have some fun with it.
What is wrong with having a car like that on the island? roads are great compared to what they used to be like
People like you just think you can’t go over 30mph on the island. You clearly haven’t ripped it along military road you can easily get 130+
Just let me know when you’re going to do it and I’ll be watching at the Z bend just before Chale!
I’d love to go for a ride to the tip in it 🙂
Maybe it’s an ovener having a holiday in their second home…
Christ you lot… They can clearly afford £500 on tax, you people could never of forgot to do something or moved house and not known something was due, how amazing that makes you. It’s a beautiful motor and someone is clearly doing well for themselves and typical behaviour is to assume they are a criminal! Small minded island mentality, grow up… be envious not jealous.
Would I forget to tax my Lambo? No actually Id make sure I did it because Id want to look after it. Don’t know about yourself but when I move house I set aside a few hours in front of a computer and change all my addresses. You are right it is a beautiful car nobody said it wasn’t
When people say “not good on the island” so where do you think it would be good?
Nothing like getting in a nice car and simply going for a drive ….
do you think horse riders are showing off as horses are expensive ?
Get a grip on life and start felling happy for people …. you never know it might rub off on your life ……..
haters will always hate … jealousy is not a good thing …..
This was spotted in Yarmouth last year with no tax on it then you think ya would remember to tax such expensive things like this Supercar lol
What sort of job would you have to be in to afford a car like working on the Island?
Certainly not an N.H.S nurse.
A council job !!! Lol
Someone in the local leisure Industry so I am informed
he is a salesman and not your local milkman!!!
he is a salesman and not your local milkman only saying!!
That carbon fibre would be interesting in the crusher….. Lol…
Lovely car Kudos to the owner..
Nice car, shame the driver can’t put his foot down on the island, one there’s no where to do it and the second it would destroy the suspension a bit like the Bugatti Veryon that’s on the Isle
The Police officer said to the driver of the Lamborghini “do you know why I stopped you” Lamborghini driver “because I let you”
Impressed they managed to get something that low on a tow truck.
Pretty sure this car was spotted a few months ago parked on the pavement in Newport High Street. Then pulled away flooring it down past the police station. I wish I could drive/park like him/her.
I hope he gets a speedy recovery of his car..
