A spell of very windy weather is expected to hit the Isle of Wight from Sunday evening, with gusts of up to 80mph possible.
Local forecaster IW Met Service says that between 21:00 on Sunday until 17:00 on Monday, southwesterly winds will strengthen rapidly overnight, with widespread gusts of 70mph likely. A few exposed locations could see gusts reaching as high as 80mph.
The severe conditions are expected to bring a number of hazards, including falling tree debris such as leaves, twigs and branches, with the possibility of a few downed trees in some areas.
Around coastal areas, large waves are likely to create dangerous conditions for beachgoers and small watercraft, with the strongest impacts expected along windward coasts.
Travel disruption is also anticipated, with delays and cancellations possible on public transport, particularly cross-Solent services. High-sided vehicles may face difficult conditions on exposed routes such as the Downs and Military Road.

I have had enough of this wind, roll on summer.
