Wightlink has cancelled 8 of its timetabled sailings on the Yarmouth-Lymington route this coming Sunday (2nd June) due to a lack of available staff. It’s said that the absence of an essential crew member has led to the action, which is a ‘last resort’. The cross-Solent operator says it has been unable to source ‘short notice cover’ – despite Sunday being 3 days away. The 14:00, 16:00, 18:00 and 20:00 sailings from Lymington have all been cancelled, alongside the 15:05, 17:05, 19:05 and 21:05 sailings from Yarmouth. All affected customers have been contacted and moved to alternative sailings. Wightlink sincerely apologises for the inconvenience this action will cause.
