Firefighters have extinguished a small fire at a residential property in central Ryde this afternoon (Thursday).
2 appliances from Ryde and Newport are on scene at Edward Street, where crews wearing breathing apparatus have entered a terraced house.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the incident at just before 17:40.
It’s understood that the fire has been extinguished, with positive pressure ventilation now being used to rid lingering smoke from the property.
First aid is being given to the occupiers for the effects of smoke inhalation.
UPDATE @ 18:14 – The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service is now on scene, with paramedics checking over those involved.
