Firefighters used an extinguisher to put out a small electrical fire in the basement of a home in Cowes earlier this morning (Tuesday).
2 appliances from Newport and Cowes were mobilised after fire control were alerted to a fire in a basement on Beckford Road at 04:00.
Crews spent over an hour on scene, using a dry powder extinguisher to tackle the flames.
SSE contractors were requested at the incident to make the property safe.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service stood down by 05:25.
