Police have been conducting a detailed search of a property in Oakfield, Ryde today (Wednesday) resulting in a small amount of cannabis being seized.
A number of plain-clothed and uniformed officers – including a specialist Police Search Advisor – arrived at Blackthorn Close off Slade Road shortly before 10:00 this morning.
They donned gloves and entered the semi-detached home as part of a warrant execution.
A small amount of a Class B drug – cannabis – was recovered.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that no arrests have been made but enquiries are ongoing.
Thank goodness the police are, as always, working hard and using tax money to tackle such horrendous crimes as someone having a small amount of a harmless drug (legal and accepted on many places) for personal use. Now, I’m off to consume an excessive volume of absinthe before sleeping soundly knowing the police are keeping me safe.
And for that matter when did a herb become a ‘drug’ ? Our planet is a failed project.

Legalise it, giving the licence to see to the pubs. Will keep the pubs open and the quality good and not too strong or smelly. Not m=smoked any for over 30 years don’t intend to again. But can’t see a good reason not to legalise it when alcohol is a lot worse. If you want it banned then beer should be banned too.

Legalise personal use. How much time and resources were wasted here? Legalise it but keep the supply of it illegal. It’s a no-brainer already working very well in many many other countries.

You’re just showing your ignorance. One reason it isn’t legalised is that the big Pharma companies can’t patent it as its a natural plant that grows in many places. They lobby parliament as they can’t make huge amounts of money from it. It is proven to have many beneficial qualities including cancer treatment so, I suggest you read something other than the Mail.
The combined wages and value of all the equipment sent to that for probably a 3.5 or 2gs would have probably been able to buy a mri machine for the hospital. Glad the war on drugs makes total and complete infallible sense.
