A skip fire next to Newport Bus Station has led to the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service responding this afternoon (Monday).
A single appliance from Newport attended the scene shortly after 17:30 and are tackling the fire using 1 hose reel.
A cordon has been erected around the affected area but the Bus Station remains open as normal.
It is not yet clear what started the fire.
UPDATE @ 18:08 – The fire has now been extinguished and emergency services have left the scene.
