Hundreds of people turned out to enjoy Shanklin Carnival last night (Wednesday) as colourful floats, walking groups and carnival royalty paraded through the town.
The procession got underway from Popham Road at 19:00 before making its way through the Old Village, High Street, Regent Street and Queens Road, finishing at Chine Avenue.
Music, dancing and decorated entries entertained spectators lining the route, with visitors and residents alike enjoying another successful evening in the Isle of Wight’s carnival season.
The carnival celebrations in Shanklin are not over just yet, with the town’s popular Illuminated Carnival Procession set to take place this Saturday, when the streets will once again come alive with a dazzling display of illuminated floats and entries.
