UPDATED: A search is underway for a missing 14-year-old boy in Ryde this afternoon (Saturday).
Coastguard Rescue officers and Police are conducting a search for the missing teen in the area surrounding Ryde Harbour. He hasn’t been seen for over an hour.
Ryde Rescue 2 lifeboat has launched to conduct a search along the coastline and around Ryde Pier.
The missing lad is said to be wearing a turquoise t-shirt, beige trousers and possibly a baseball cap. He is around 5ft tall.
Anyone who sights a male matching this description should call HM Coastguard on 999 or alert a member of Coastguard, Police or lifeguard services.
UPDATE @ 14:00 – The boy has been found safe and well by a Ryde Town Council-funded Ryde Beach Lifeguard.
Emergency services have stood down.
