It’s good news for many Island eateries this month as they are dished up with the best food hygiene ratings.
In accordance with the guidance set out by the Food Standards Agency, Isle of Wight food-serving and making establishments are inspected by environmental health teams. They are judged on the cleanliness and condition of facilities, their hygienic food handling and food safety management.
The Isle of Wight Council officers will then rank the businesses on a scale from 5 to 0 — ranging from ‘Very Good’ to ‘Urgent Improvement Necessary’. The higher the score, the lower the rating and there is a mixed bunch in the latest servings of results.

What I can’t understand is there are more food establishments that have never been mention .
are they slipping through the net
Also, why are places like premier stores at the Broadway, Sandown mentioned.
The only food that they serve is cheap bottles of white cider.
The bigger the back hander. The higher the score..
