SCHOOL CHILD APPROACHED BY STRANGER ON THE WALK HOME FROM SCHOOL

A student at The Bay CE School is said to have been approached by a stranger on their way home from school yesterday (Tuesday).

It is unknown where and when exactly the approach took place, but the child in question is said to be safe and well.

The incident has given an opportunity for the school to remind students, parents and carers about steps that can be put in place to support personal safety and awareness.

In a letter sent to parents this afternoon, it has been said:

“With the afternoons getting darker earlier, you may like to walk home with a friend. Where possible you should avoid unlit pathways and always ensure that someone knows where you are and what time you should be returning home”.

The Bay CE School are working with the local Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) from Hampshire Constabulary.
