Local residents were delighted to see a sea of Santas running along the seafront at Cowes on Sunday (15th December), all taking part in the Isle of Wight NHS Trust Charity’s first-ever Santa Dash!
From keen runners to some of our smallest Santas in their own sleighs, the event saw the Island community in their Santa suits and festive gear running 2km-5km along the seafront, raising a fantastic £1,400 for the Isle of Wight NHS Trust.
Kate Sandys, Head of Chairty for the Isle of Wight NHS Trust Charity, has said:
“This was our first ever Santa Dash for the hospital and we are so pleased at how well it went! Not only did our supporters come along and spread joy and smiles, but our volunteers also made the day go as smoothly as it did.
“We would love to say thank you to all of our Santas and our volunteers who helped make the event possible including a large team of Police Cadets who kindly marshalled some of the route”.
The money raised from the Santa Dash will go to the trust to enhance patient care and staff wellbeing.
