The New Year’s Day firework display due to take place in Sandown tomorrow (Monday) has been cancelled. Organisers have said that the decision was because of circumstances ‘beyond their control’. The event was set to see fireworks set off from Sandown Pier at around 18:00. It is hoped that those in charge will be able to reschedule the event for somewhen later in 2024. A spokesperson from Sandown Carnival has said:
“We know this will be a big disappointment to you all, as it is to us, and we wish you a Happy New Year.”
