A family in Ryde were given a shock during the early hours of this morning when a former black cab collided into the front of their house on Marlborough Road in Ryde.
At around 00:30 the iconic taxi left the carriageway and smashed through a garden wall before coming to rest up against the property. Police were called to the scene.
Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident – including 2 children inside the family home – and the property is not thought to have sustained any serious structural damage.
The cab remains in-situ awaiting a full structural examination of the house by an engineer.
The vehicle is local to the area and recently completed the Monte Carlo or Bust rally.
