Residents in Brighstone had to look twice when their local postie turned up this week, as it appeared he was delivering for ‘Post Brenhinol’ – or Royal Mail in Welsh.
A brand new Peugeot Partner van was recently delivered to the sorting office in Newport here on the Isle of Wight.
But it was only once the van had arrived that it was realised that it had branding more suited to Newport in Wales!
Although it sports ‘Royal Mail’ branding on one side, on the other it states ‘Post Brenhinol’ – seemingly the van was due to be signed, sealed and delivered to the sorting office in South Wales.
UPDATE – Royal Mail says that the van was always destined for Newport on the Isle of Wight, but was incorrectly fitted with Welsh livery – with blame being put on the unnamed business contracted to carry out such work.
A spokesperson for Royal Mail has said:
“We were aware of this but it was not possible to correct it during the peak period when demand was high and vans were needed for delivery.
“The external business we contract will be rectifying the livery as soon as possible”
What an embarrassment, Royal Mail are useless
thesedays, you don’t get post for days, and then
you get a few weeks worth rock upin one go, not
to mention incorrect post you have to then post on.
“Can’t get the staff thesedays”
Royal Mail are a disgrace.
The only thing delivered on time is the junk mail, particularly from Wightfibre had 7 copies of same thing in two days yet it took a 48hour tracked item 7 days without being able to track it after the first hub in Yorkshire, and they have the gall to charge extortionate prices, ever increasing, for their lack of service provision.
So true.
I had more junk Wightfibre mail in the post
this morning.
They are wasting money sending out this trash
If I want to go with Wightfibre I would contact
them, they don’t need to contact me!
You do realise that Royal Mail don’t do the signwriting on their vehicles, that it’s a 3rd party company which does it and delivers the van, don’t you?
Yes I do, but joking aside Royal Mails postal
service is Sh*t!, and I have personally told them
that and the Postal Review system.
I don’t mince my words, still a free country,
don’t know for how long though.
For Gods sake, don’t let bloody Starmer and his arse lickers find out.
They cannot deliver a van to the right place, let alone a letter !!!
The last few years the service has been sh*t
and it ain’t getting any better.
Anyone remember when Tescos had some carrier bags printed with ‘Isle of White’ , instead of Wight ?
Every little helps
Lol
Ha ha ha Royal Mail, what a joke you are. As usual another delivery another failure, did you not read the post code, cmon its not hard.
By the way was it on time or late
I’m surprised it wasn’t in Czech or Slovakian or whatever the owner speaks.
