The Isle of Wight Round Table has been spreading Christmas cheer to thousands of Islanders once again this year, raising over £4,000 for charity in the process.
For the 4th year in a row, Father Christmas has been chauffeured around various Isle of Wight towns in his bid to bring smiles and excitement to people in the run-up to the big day. In doing so, the Isle of Wight Round Table raised in excess of £4,000 – with more still to come.
The final amount will be shared between 3 charities; Wight Brainy Bunch, Carers IW and the Alzheimer’s Cafè at Parklands.
James Metcalfe, Round Tables lead organiser for this year’s Sleigh event, has said:
“We’ve been blown away with this years event but there is still time to donate, so please head to our facebook page (Facebook.com/iwroundtable) and click on one of the donation links.”
Mike Grist, Chairman of Isle of Wight Round Table, adds:
“The organising committee would like to thank all of their main sponsors, our friends at Ryde Round Table and all the adults and children who walked with us and collected money on our behalf. And also to every person who put money in our buckets to pass on to these wonderful charities.”
