Robin Hill has issued a courtesy notice to all local landowners and businesses that planned hot air balloon flights are expected between now and Monday (29th May).
Due to the nature of balloon flight relying heavily on calm winds and stable air, flights are unlikely to take place outside of the following early morning and evening times – 06:00-08:00 and 18:30-20:00. The direction of flights will mirror the prevailing wind direction at time of launch.
Balloon flights are operated and managed by qualified flight crews, all pilots are licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority, carry a Certificate of Airworthiness and relevant insurances.
Flights will normally take place from Robin Hill creating a spectacular sight in the skies for everyone to enjoy; however, Islanders are reminded that the very experienced and capable pilots are entirely responsible for all aspects of their flight activity, including plotting appropriate landing sites and respectful retrieval of balloons upon landing.
In addition to balloon flights, fireworks will also be released between 21:30-22:30 from Saturday 27th to Monday 29th May.
