Don’t tell me more speeding.
Paul the cowboy builder I was stoned and driving
Accident hotspot, someone should petition the council! But not me because I am a lazy slob.
that a good idea but the council have spent all there cash on that stupid Ryde thing and now the council are doing 1hr free parking in that rundown slum town Newport so that black spot will have to stay as a black spot
The cash for that “stupid Ryde thing” was ring-fenced and can’t be spent on anything else. Ditto the ludicrous St Mary’s junction.
The way it works is like this:
The Tories don’t like councils, especially non-Tory councils, spending the money they give them on things they don’t approve of, so they cut the amount they give us (cuts voted for by Seely), then give us ring-fenced cash for specific projects they do approve of like the “stupid Ryde thing”.
As an added Bonus, Seely can then pass of this ring-fenced cash as his “Island Deal” despite it being nothing of the kind.
It’s just another idiot, it’s just another normal day on the IW…..And most island drivers love it, you will notice this fact when I’m heavily voted down….
looks like today they like you
Give it time, most of them are having their fix….
Don’t know if it was at the junction, but nothing has been done since the fatality a few years ago despite a lot of talk, not even cutting the hedgerows back. much as I hate the idea it needs traffic lights. (Or excavate the rise on the Yarmouth side).
Exactly.
When will this incompetent council of ours finally do something to improve road safety?
It’s a terrible junction – not helped by people “helpfully” trying to let others out while others are unaware of that happening. Let’s stick to the Highway Code. Then everyone knows what everyone else is doing.
Yes most of the junctions need the hedgerows cutting back but no need for traffic lights it’s a junction at the end of the day you need to look and be patient it’s not hard
What’s going on?As an experienced driver I love this bit of road.Easy to get a ton plus by the recycling centre and further along towards Shafleet.Need to throttle down byWhitehouse road and the s bend to about 70mph but if you stay focused it is perfectly safe. All you inexperienced drivers please slow down before someone get’s seriously injured.
