A major stretch of the main road through Havenstreet is due to be resurfaced next week.
Island Roads is to resurface a 1 mile stretch of road between the Isle of Wigt Steam Railway and Stroudwood Road in a ten-day programme between Monday 29th June and Friday 10th July. In order to minimise disruption to road users, the work will be undertaken overnight between 18:30 and 06:30 and will be open outside of these times.
During the work, traffic will be diverted via Briddlesford Road; Station Road, Wootton; High Street, Wootton; Elenors Grove; Quarr Hill; Newnham Road, Binstead.
Island Roads construction manager Keith Gourlay said:
“This is a further example of us working overnight on a busy stretch of road in order to minimise disruption to road users.
“We hope that any short term inconvenience during the scheme will be outweighed by the benefits of seeing the road improved.”
