Wightlink are running a revised timetable on their catamaran service between Ryde Pier Head and Portsmouth tomorrow (Wednesday) due to a mechanical problem.
As reported by Island Echo earlier today, one of the Wight Ryder vessels suffered a suspected electrical malfunction mid-Solent, forcing the vessel to limp to port. Those on board say internal lighting was lost and the vessel was operating on reduced power.
As a result of the mechanical problem, Wightlink say the 07:10, 08:10 and 09:10 sailings from Ryde Pier Head and the 07:40 and 08:40 sailings from Portsmouth Harbour are running on a revised timetable with a charter vessel being used.
