Several Red Funnel vehicle ferry sailings to and from the Isle of Wight have been cancelled this week due to necessary repair works on the passenger gangway of Red Eagle.
The cancellations will affect crossings on Wednesday 9th, Saturday 12th and Monday 14th. The affected sailings are the 20:15 departure from Southampton and the 21:45 departure from East Cowes.
Customers booked on these services will be contacted directly with revised sailing times.
Island Echo understands the gangway was damaged around the time of the Isle of Wight Festival, with foot passengers loaded by the car deck since.
There are further cancellations today (Tuesday) too, with the 22:00 from Southampton and the 23:30 from East Cowes cancelled due to necessary maintenance work on Red Falcon.
A spokesperson for Red Funnel has said:
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused to your journey.”

Wouldn’t it be a better idea if the works were
carried out in the early hours.
It is 2025, floodlights are available from
good stockists.
