A 19-year-old man has been issued with a community resolution order following an incident in Ryde earlier today (Thursday).
Police – including an Armed Response Vehicle – were called to a public order incident on Vernon Square shortly after 11:20.
Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary then located an individual – a 19-year-old man from Ryde – near an address on Church Lane shortly before 12:00.
The male was placed into a Police van and taken to Newport Police Station.
He was later de-arrested and issued with a community resolution order.

And that’s why men shouldn’t be allowed out on there own!
Every male in Ryde should be arrested and locked up.
It’s the people dump of the island.
Don’t tar all men with the same brush please. It doesn’t prove anything besides being a spiteful misandrist.
Looks more like a boy to me.
Especially you!
What are you talking about idiot this is the trouble with people these days they talk total rubbish what a totally stupid thing to say
Their own !!
A true tale of today, and not just on this island.
An incident is reported which is thought serious enough to warrant the attendance of an Armed Response Team. In fact a man is placed into a police van, then taken to the station to be ‘de-arrested’ and issued with a ‘Community Resolution Order’ which will be regarded as a badge of honour. . I suppose everyone involved then stood down and went away rubbing their hands with satisfaction. . Another few hundred quid wasted on what could probably have been sorted by a (male) beat bobby with a baton in the course of his day. Or am I over-simplifying solutions our modern complex and caring world?
Needs the Police to break its jaw resisting arrest as it is the only language that sort understand
I blame the Van driver…
