Firefighters from East Cowes and Newport are tackling a property fire at an address in East Cowes this evening (Sunday).
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at Princess Close shortly before 18:25, turning out a total of 3 appliances – 1 from East Cowes and 2 from Newport.
Its the second time in recent months that the fire service has been called to the property in question. In February, a double car fire destroyed 2 vehicles and spread to the exterior walls of the house.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus have tackled the fire and are now withdrawing from the building.
It has been confirmed that the fire has been contained within the kitchen and was started by a fridge freezer.
Thankfully, no one has been injured.
