Several hundred properties are without power in Newport as gusty winds whistle across the Isle of Wight tonight (Thursday).
Some 28 postcodes in the PO30 5 area have been affected by the high voltage network fault.
Power was lost at around 23:35.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Network engineers are aware of the fault and are working to restore power as soon as possible.
Further information can be acquired by calling 105.
Meanwhile on the roads, a tree has fallen across the road at Newport Road in Apse Heath between the mini roundabout and Sandown Airport. Traffic is being diverted locally.
