A power cut has hit parts of Newport this morning (Tuesday) leaving businesses and premises without supply.
The fault has affected properties within the Whitepit Lane area, with some side roads also being without power.
Whitepit Lane, St Johns Road, St Johns Close, St Nicholas Close, Mount Joy & Elm Grove are on the list of affected roads.
Engineers from Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) are aware of the fault and currently working to restore supplies as quickly as possible.
The fault was reported to SSEN at 10:48 and it is anticipated that supplies will be restored by 16:00 this afternoon.
A spokesperson for SSEN has said:
“We’re sorry for the loss of supply.
“We currently have a fault affecting the areas listed.
“Our engineers are on site working hard to get the power back on as quickly as they can.
