43-year-old Anthony Martin from Portsmouth has admitted in court to stealing almost £3,000 worth of gold necklaces from a jewellers in Shanklin last month.
As exclusively reported by Island Echo, a male entered Isle of Wight Jewellers on Regent Street and stole a number of gold necklaces, before making his escape on a pushbike.
Now, Police have confirmed that on Wednesday this week they arrested Martin, of Beach Road in Southsea, on suspicion of theft.
He was subsewnrlty charged with the offence and appeared before Portsmouth Magistrates Court yesterday, where he pleaded guilty.
He has since been released on conditional bail to appear at the same court on 6th September for sentencing.
