A 35-year-old woman has been arrested after allegedly trying to gain access to a property in East Cowes whilst armed with a saw.
Officers rushed to the scene at Verdon House on Kent Avenue at just before 14:30 this afternoon (Monday).
It had been reported that a female was trying to gain entry and had damaged a door with a saw.
It didn’t take long for Police to identify and detain their suspect, who has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon.
Island Echo understands that a reciprocating saw was used to cause damage to a door. It is understood the incident is related to an eviction that happened at the residential premises last week.
She remains in custody at this time.

Another mental health case, 35 years old, you would think at that age her problems would be sorted….However, we never know what’s around the corner…
Your joking aren’t you .You haven’t got a clue maybe one day you will
A saw an offensive weapon?
Well it made light work of wood. I’m sure skin and flesh wouldn’t stand much of a chance, especially when swung at you with considerable force.
Oh my gosh. That means that I drive around with a van load of offensive weapons everyday.
I’d better keep my head down
Well done for admitting that on a public chat section. I’d therefore suggest you’d better not use them in places where you’re not meant to which includes breaking and entering then.
Did she leave something behind?
Probably her common sense if she ever had any!
Yes DEBT and bills. Low life trash. Sleeping in the gutter is too good for it
How do you know? A relation of yours?
Most pathetic gaining entry attempt I’ve ever seen.
“ever heard” unless you were there!
Rookie mistake, if your using a reciprocating saw then cut through the hinges.
I would have used the more traditional crowbar method.
Hardly surprising down that road, awful area
I left a comment which did not break the rules (I checked) and it was held back by Island Echo despite the House Rules right on this page stating they will seek to cooperate with police where needed. You instead hold that comment back, and post speculative slanderous comments from other users. Thank you, island echo.
“they”? Why are using the plural form? Surely, she is a she?
What? ‘They’ as in Island Echo…did you even read the comment?
probably another self entitled loser that thinks she is entitled to live in someone elses property without their permission
And why was this woman evicted from the property in question? My guess is, she was probably a right pain the arse and caused a lot of trouble. Still doing it now!
They don’t “rush” for anything serious though
