Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary have reaffirmed their commitment to tackling violence against women and girls following the publication of the National Police Chief’s Council’s VAWG National Policing Statement. Violence against women and girls is a national emergency that is increasing in scale and severity. A national shift in approach is vital to turning the tide on the abuse faced by women and girls every day – and we each have a role to play in this across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. We should be in a position to challenge these behaviours if we see them occurring in our local communities. As a force, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary thinks that getting their response right in tackling violence against women and girls starts with each of us. Reacting to the NPCC’s report, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary’s strategic lead for Violence Against Women and Girls, Chief Superintendent Clare Jenkins, said:
“The National Policing Statement from the NPCC indicates exactly why VAWG is a priority for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary – and we are fully committed to pursuing those perpetrating these heinous, and hugely impactful offences, while also playing a role in protecting victims. “It comes off the back that nationally, VAWG related offences account for 20 per cent of all police recorded crime and that 1 in 12 women are likely to be a victim of VAWG each year – albeit it is likely that number is much higher due to a lack of reporting. The report also suggests that there are more complex types of offending occurring, such as child-on-child sexual offending, online abuse and dangerous content for younger people, which causes significant harm to victims and society as a whole. “We – as a force – have a pivotal role to play in reducing offending across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. We must prepare and ensure that we have the right culture, skills and resources at our disposal to tackle the epidemic that is VAWG. We will ensure that appropriate action is taken immediately to protect individuals, families and local communities whilst ensuring that perpetrators of violence are being relentlessly pursued. “Lastly, and perhaps most pertinent, we must do all that we can within our powers to prevent these offences taking hold in our local communities and within the homes of victims in the first instance. We can only be successful in this through a whole-system approach such as that called for by the NPCC; bringing together criminal justice partners, government bodies and industry in order to reduce the scale and impact of VAWG.”

So. Violence against boys and men isn’t as important….the discrimination here is breathtaking…no wonder men have less respect for the police and women when they are treated as second class cirizens
what about hen pecked husbands/boyfriends who are the victims of spiteful and jealous females – violence against men by women is real and if it isn’t given the same priority, then expect less support for this initiative.

Women and girls do need protection likely far more than men.
Unless in areas of seedy repute such as Brighton then men and boys are rarely pestered for attention with s ex as the motive.
Yet since masses of more recent arrivals into the Uk , se x pestering in bars , clubs , parks, public transport etc is the normal, as is drink spiking and even now girls being injected with date rape drugs.
Why ANY woman or males with daughters didn’t vote for Reform is truly staggering, especially after the Rotherham and Rochester cases. Guess low key reports to prevent the truth explains why.

Women are killed by men at the rate of one every three days. Men killed by women 13 in one year in 2023, so about one a month. Equality? Women are far more likely to be victims of domestic abuse, often for years until they try to leave their violent partners. This is the most dangerous time for the women as the men decide that their partner deserves to die rather than live a happier life away from them
I used to work with a guy who would come to work some days like he had been thrown to the bloody lions, especially after the weekend, Having said, any guy who beats up a woman is a piece of shit and needs a good kicking himself, so he knows what it feels like to her.

back to the 70’s, as long as you stop short of the labour governments winter of discontent, with 3 day strikes each week, power cuts because power workers were on strike, candles in the home as the leccy went off, rubbish everywhere and the government going cap in hand to the IMF for a loan, as they were skint after spending everyones money on pointless things. Not to mention the fact that the government was infested with paedo’s under that PIE group (paedo information exchange) that were trying to get the law changed so that consent was far, far lower.

I was beaten black and blue last year, my ex partner was arrested for Assault, ABH and Domestic Non fatal Strangulation, what did they do? Nothing, absolutely nothing! He spent 24 hours in a cell and got away with it while I have to walk around scared every damn day, with a permanently altered face!
