Concerns for the welfare of an individual have prompted an emergency response to Culver Down tonight (Friday), with Police, paramedics and coastguards all attending.
Emergency services are currently located at the beauty spot overlooking Bembridge having been alerted to the situation at just before 21:50.
An ambulance crew, operational commander and now a mental health practitoner are in attendance from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, alongside multiple Police units and Coastguard Rescue Officers from Bembridge.
Thankfully, it appears the person at the center of the incident is now safe.
It’s the 3rd time this week that emergency teams have been mobilised to Culver.
Earlier tonight ambulance crews were called to another mental health-related incident in West Street, Ryde where a woman was causing an obstruction to the carriageway.
2 ambulances blocked either end of the road between Argyll Street and Arthur Street whilst awaiting the arrival of Police.
Once Police officers were on scene the situation was quickly deescalated and the road reopened.

2 Ambulances for 1 situation, what if another person
required an Ambulance.
Another drug user!
Paul the cowboy builder why have you not been stopped
One ambulance would leave?
So hope the person is ok? Hopefully get some much needed love and support X
i totally agree thanks for a kind comment.
How is it that 2 ambulances are sent when no injuries as yet reported when also other emergency services already on scene, yet if you are elderly and have fallen and broken hip or other like stroke or child injured etc you are told to get them to hospital yourself or have to wait 5hrs. I would be suing someone if my child or elderly parent was left to suffer for hours whilst ambulance crew’s stood around without even a casualty. Mental health should not be above someone hurt etc, mental health or not, people make own choices wether attention seeking or suicidal!.
Lets hope you are never in the position that this person is in. mental.healthnis a serious illness and no one knows the circumstances of the person who is needing medical.attention. i just hope the poor person gets the help they
need
Can you prove that someone with a broken hip or a badly injured child was refused an ambulance on the Island?
Or are you just making it up to have a pop at a vunerable sucidial member of the public?
They are weak scum and I’d have pushed them. That poor farmers fence no one ever thinks of its feelings having to see those weak scum die
Have you ever considered volunteering for the Samaritians George?
To all you who have made stupid comments on here! I do hope you never suffer from depression or whatever caused this poor person to be so desperate! Have a heart and keep your stupid negative thoughts to yourself. As for 2 ambulance arriving, if they got a call out they deemed more serious they would leave the current situation, stop having a moan, is that all you ever do?
