Police have closed the road between Cowes and Thorness this evening (Thursday) as a result of a road traffic collision.
Rolls Hill has been closed in both directions with motorists being turned away from the area.
It’s at least the 4th crash of the day with earlier incidents at Calbourne, Ryde and Chale.
UPDATE @ 19:39 – It has been confirmed to Island Echo that no serious injuries have been sustained in the crash, which has seen the front wheel ripped off a people carrier.
It’s understood 1 driver has sustained mild bruising.
Recovery has been arranged and the road is expected to reopen shortly.

I was wandering when you’d show up mr good driver 😀 we’ve had some good debates but I want to get you to expand on how policing every corner of our roads is going to make any impact other than the already tightening of budgets? Like I agree something needs to happen. If you catch a man a fish you feed him for the day, teach him how, you feed him for a lifetime. Some people drive semi conscious of their surroundings thinking of the events of their day or others not at all, driving angrily or unhinged. Not everyone cares about our safety concerns so trying to find a solution to a wide problem where they just dont care is a sunk cost fallacy and I can’t think of any meaningful to stop this, crashes will happen no policy is going to stop this

Too many drivers driving too fast and too close to the vehicle infront.At 40 mph you should be 40 meters behind not 4 meters like the ars%%%le that was behind me on this road today.
