A cordon has been erected on a pocket of land off Newport Road in Upper Ventnor this afternoon (Monday).
Police are currently present at Old Shute, which has been taped off as a result of an unknown incident.
Access to the area – including Old Shute Field – is being prevented.
Officers are conducting door to door enquiries nearby.
UPDATE @ 15:30 – Police have confirmed that they are investigating a robbery after 2 men approached a person and stole their bag.
The incident occurred at around 12:00.
No arrests have been made at this time and enquiries are ongoing.
