Police have confirmed the identity of a man killed in a flat in Ryde on Tuesday as 33-year-old Scott Cooper.
Officers attended a flat in George Street on Tuesday afternoon (4th January), where the body of the Newport man was discovered.
Officers were initially called to the address at approximately 02:50 on Tuesday morning, however, did not discover the murder scene until later in the day. This has prompted an incident referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
A crime scene was established on Tuesday with a cordon erected around a section of the footway outside the property. Forensic officers then moved in to conduct a thorough examination of the flat, gathering evidence to help secure a conviction.
3 people have been arrested on suspicion of murdering Scott Cooper. They remain in custody at this time.
Police continue to appeal for anyone with information that could assist with enquiries to contact them on 101, quoting Operation Amaryllis or 44220003393.
