UPDATED: A body has been discovered at an address in Ryde this afternoon (Friday).
4 Police vehicles and an ambulance crew are currently in attendance at a residential address on St John’s Road, close to the junction with Player Street.
The entrance to the property has been cordoned off as investigations into the circumstances of the death get underway.
It is unclear at this moment in time if the incident is being treated as suspicious or unexplained.
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service have come away from the property but remain on scene.
Emergency services initially responded to Ryde at around 15:15.
All roads in the area remain open as normal.
UPDATE @ 17:00 – Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that a man’s body has been found at the address, which is listed as Player Street.
Enquiries are ongoing at this time and detectives from Newport CID are now on scene.
UPDATE @ 19:02 – Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious
A file is being prepared for the coroner.
