UPDATED: Officers from both Hampshire Constabulary and HM Coastguard are searching an area in Niton this afternoon (Saturday).
Several police vehicles were seen responding to the vicinity at around 16:30, but it remains unclear what exactly has sparked the emergency response.
Coastguard Rescue Teams from both Ventnor and The Needles are also in attendance near to Barrack Shute.
UPDATE @ 18:05 – A high risk missing individual at the centre of this evening’s search has been successfully located by Police.
The search has now been called off with all resources stood down.
