Platform One students have successfully raised in excess of £4,000 for Wessex Cancer Support during the recent Arts Aid 2025 event.
Held at GG’s Restaurant and Bar on 9th May, the event dazzled guests with an evening of live student performances, token casino tables, and a prize-packed raffle – all designed and delivered by the students as part of their final BTEC collaborative project in Music.
The night also marked the official launch of the Arts Aid 2025 album, created and produced by the students.
Student Bella Brown said:
“We’re thrilled to have made such a meaningful contribution to Wessex Cancer Support.”
Wessex Cancer Support provides essential emotional and well-being assistance to Islanders affected by cancer. It offers a support centre in Newport and a transport service for medical appointments.
The funds raised will help them continue offering hope and care when it’s needed most.
Student Carys Morgan added:
“It’s amazing to have raised such a significant amount for Wessex Cancer Support and to have hosted a memorable night for our community.”
