The occupants of a pick-up truck escaped any serious injury when the vehicle veered off the road and rolled into a farmer’s field near Cowes earlier today (Wednesday).
Police and paramedics responded to the scene between Cowes and Porchfield after reports were received that a large car had left the road, gone through a hedge and ended up around 30 metres into a field.
Luckily, the occupants were able to free themselves from the wreckage. They were checked over by paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
Police are reminding motorists that the roads are wet and slippery at the moment, so drivers should take extra care and keep an eye on speed.

30 meters into a field after crashing through a hedge thats roughly 150+ feet… so obviously going over 30 mph !! Another idiot.. undue care and attention, should be 10 year ban, as could have killed or maimed passenger…
30m is actually about 100ft. Consistent with 30mph at 0.5g deceleration.
Without Due Care and Attention! If they were driving as you word it the collision wouldn’t have happened.
The distance that pick-up has continued into the field is a clear indication of the speed it was doing. At any sensible speed the verge and hedge would been enough to almost stop it
Another quality driver on the Isle of Wight
These dicks can’t drive a nail into wood!
Dangerous situation.
Large fine or prison time nèded
Drug driving drug driving
Your probably right…our roads are riddled with them..
Are you saying you know that? or just assuming? We all know there are drug drivers, drink drivers, speeders and of course a number of other reasons that don’t warrant a court appearance, unfortunately you may be right, but best not to convict without knowledge of the facts.
You lot are a joke, no clue what has actually happened bunch of muppets
Fancy meating you here
Yeah i have Harry the driver is a chav…who speeds everywhere..or did..
Watch out the ‘Clown’ drivers about again.
When will these wally’s learn to keep tyres on road.
Does anyone on the Island check what mileage these morons were travelling at!
Hey up, you can’t park there mate..
Turnip chomping bumpkins.
I think it’s terrible.
Rolls Hill current speed limit needs to be altered to reflect the houses with their families and children before a fatality actually happens .
This Road current speed limit of 70mph ie the national speed limit is exactly the same as the duel carriage way in Newport !! How can this be right ?
The council, Isle of Wight roads and Police haven’t listened to the concerns of the families that live on this road
What more do we have to do to get this road speed limit altered?
It’s not 70mph you moron it’s 60mph on single carriage ways, also these so called families with kids new the speed limit when they bought or moved into there house so if they don’t like it, move! We need to speed this island up a bit not slow it down! Bloody wet wipes!!
Someone needs to check their road laws and highway code, national speed limit on a single carriageway is 60mph not 70mph, get clued up!
No just a moron with an ego showing off to passengers going way way too fast for the current conditions iv been driving 4×4’s for years I refuse to drive anything else for safety reasons (to many morons on the road) and although the hight of them makes them easier to roll this can only be achieved at speed not a chance of rolling even these trucks at 30 mph so no just a another egotistical arogance driven moron with a driver’s license and this was a pick up so not much weight on the back end probably not enough experience going to fast for wet roads also explains the loss of control just your common garden Verity arrogant egotistical moron being an egotistical moron .
It’s the road’s fault again
