UPDATED: Emergency teams are working together to free the trapped occupants of a car following a serious collision on Briddlesford Road near Havenstreet this evening (Thursday).
The road has been closed in both directions as the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service extricate those involved. 3 fire engines are on scene.
A number of Ambulance and Police resources are also in attendance but it remains unclear at this stage how many people have been injured and how badly.
Motorists should avoid the area.
UPDATE @ 18:22 – 1 male has been extricated by fire crews and is to be conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital by Ambulance.
Paramedics have also checked over at least 1 other person at the scene.
