UPDATED: Police and HM Coastguard have been called to Culver Cliff near Sandown this morning (Tuesday) where concerns have been raised for the welfare of a person on the cliff edge.
Multiple Police units and Coastguard officers from Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team are on scene on the remote downland, with further resources en-route.
Bembridge RNLI’s All Weather Lifeboat has been tasked to launch.
The alarm was raised at around 10:00.
UPDATE – Emergency services have been stood down following a successful resolve to the situation.
A man, who had taken to the cliff edge, is now in the care of Police.
Culver Down remains open to walkers and motorists alike.
